Owlet, a startup based out of Utah has introduced the smart sock for new born babies. This smart sock uses a hospital technology Pulse oximetry, which is test to measure the oxygen level of blood.The smart sock owlet will alert if baby stops breathing. Owlet is wireless and gentle. This sends signals to independent base station. The independent base station has both green and red light indicator. The green light keeps glowing for normal heart rate, when heart rate or oxygen appear to be out of normal range the independent base stations glows up red light. And now to monitor the numerical values you need an apple device. The owlet application works on any device running iOS 8 or higher. Using the application you can monitor heart rate and oxygen level. When either heart rate or oxygen level is out of normal range then owlet alarms from base station and phone.

China releseases its first large passeger plane. Though it is not into air the state owned COMAC is behind its fabrication and manfacturing. They have introduced it to market in Shanghai's International Airport. This is going to give a tough competition for Airbus and Boeing. Re/code a tech news site posted screenshot of service and it also confirms that twitter is about to finalize the deal with payment services company Stripe. University Of Washington engineers have created a new wireless communication System that allows devices to interact with each other without relying on batteries or wires for power. Using ambient backscatter devices can interact with each other and communicate with users without batteries they exchange information by pre-existing radio signals from TV and cellular transmissions. Sony Corporation and Panasonic Corporation had signed a basic agreement with objective of jointly developing a new generation optical disk of atleast 300GB capacity by 2015. Sony previously commercialized a file-based optical disc archive system in September, 2012. Based on optical disc technology that Sony cultivated for its XDCAM series of professional broadcasting products, this system houses twelve optical discs within a compact cartridge as a single, high-capacity storage solution. Each disc within the cartridge holds 25GB capacity, offering a total range of storage capacities from 300GB to 1.5TB. Panasonic launched its ‘LB-DM9 series’ of optical disc storage devices. This series uses a dedicated magazine of just 20.8mm thickness to house twelve 100GB optical discs. A maximum of 90 magazines can be stored, providing a total storage capacity of 180TB.
