Huawei put its  best foot forward  ( twice ) last week at CES, but it seems that the company has yet another smartphone up its sleeve: a 4.5-inch Android device known as the G520. According to  Gizchina , the phone is said to wield a quad-core 1.2GHz Mediatek  MT6589 , but its key selling point will be the price -- it's said to be in the neighborhood of ￥1,399 ($225). The specific resolution of the G520 is currently known, and the same is true for the version of Android it'll ship with. That said, Ice Cream Sandwich seems most plausible, as the smartphone includes just 512MB of RAM. The Huawei G520 also includes a 5-megapixel rear camera and is said to go up for sale on January 21st within China. Hopefully by then, we'll know a bit more about this one.

 The recently-concluded Consumer Electronic Show held in Las Vegas saw  Samsung  boasting of latest in TV technology: TV which 'kills' remote, curved TVs and lots of other  exciting  innovations it plans to bring to the space. However, the company had little to offer to its smartphone lovers.  However, a closer inspection of Samsung's booth at CES reveals that the company inadvertently gave away the screen size and other details of the display it plans to use in its upcoming smartphone  Samsung Galaxy S IV .  A report on technology blog AnadTech says that a section at Samsung's booth had a listing showing the evolution of the AMOLED displays developed by the company. Researchers have developed a new software that makes the technology of opening car and home doors using  smartphone apps more secure and versatile. Researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology  SIT  in Darmstadt, Germany, will be demonstrating their ShareKey software, a solution to popularise the method. "In essence, ShareKey offers two new functions: users can issue digital keys remotely and assign these keys certain user permissions. For instance, I can grant the building superintendent access to my apartment for a short period so that he can open the door for the gas metre to be read while I'm at work," said Alexandra Dmitrienko from the SIT. "The solution is built around modern security technologies and can be easily integrated into existing access control systems," Dmitrienko said in a statement.
