Windows 8 App Contest – Participate and Win Tablets!



Windows 8 made a huge splash last month with the highly anticipated launch and was received to great reviews. A ‘radical makeover’ from the previous versions, Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft said, “Windows 8 shatters perceptions of what a PC really is and is a bold and innovative break from past Windows versions.”
And to further stoke the enthusiasm, YourStory.in in association with Microsoft is launching the Windows 8 App contest – a campaign targeted towards startups, aspiring entrepreneurs and developers who want to leverage the Windows 8 platform and ride the early advantage.
We are looking for innovative apps on the Windows 8 platform and here is a great opportunity to showcase your app. Here are the categories for which the apps can be made and the monthly prizes to be won.

  • Top 3 Most Popular Apps selected by audience voting (one each month)
  • Top 3 Star App Publishers with max no. of published apps (one each month)

Duration of the campaign
21st Dec 2012 – 20th Mar 2013
Monthly winners will be announced by 25th of each month.
Eligibility
All apps enrolled for the contest should have at least 15 Windows Store ratings and the average rating of the app must be 3+ stars to be eligible for the contest.
All you need to do is get the app published on the Windows 8 Platform and fill in the details of the app on YourStory Pages Application Form, share the link of the app and you’d have got one hand on that beautiful tablet.

No, this contest is open only for apps which have been developed, certified and published on the Windows 8 App Store

Once your app is certified and published on the Windows store, create a new app profile with all the required details on the YourPages Apps platform and make sure to include a link to your app on the Windows 8 store along with you contact details so that we can get in touch with you.
Q. How many apps can one person enroll in this contest?
As many as you can develop and get it published on the Windows store and enroll them into the contest by sharing the app details link to it on the Windows store by 20th March 2013

This smart sock uses a hospital technology Pulse oximetry, which is test to measure the oxygen level of blood.The smart sock owlet will alert if baby stops breathing. Owlet is wireless and gentle. This sends signals to independent base station. The independent base station has both green and red light indicator. The green light keeps glowing for normal heart rate, when heart rate or oxygen appear to be out of normal range the independent base stations glows up red light. And now to monitor the numerical values you need an apple device. The owlet application works on any device running iOS 8 or higher. Using the application you can monitor heart rate and oxygen level. When either heart rate or oxygen level is out of normal range then owlet alarms from base station and phone.
