The recently-concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 showcased a host of new TV technologies. From TVs that could display two shows at the same time to curved television screens, CES 2013 showcased innovation at its best in TV space. Top TV manufacturers Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Sharp ruled the Trade show with their latest wares.
Here are seven hot TVs unveiled at CES 2013.
Panasonic, Sony's world's biggest 4K OLED TV
Ultra HD and OLED were the buzzwords at CES 2013, but how about televisions that had both technologies? Panasonic and Sony collaborated on making it easier to develop the 4K OLED TVs and the two companies showed off their 56-inch devices at CES this year.
Though just prototypes at this stage, these televisions have screen resolution of 3840x2160p and boast of better depth, accuracy and colour crispness than other large screen TVs and will soon come into production.

Sharp’s 8K TV
4K televisions appear to be the next big thing in the TV space, but if Sharp has its away, they will soon be passe. The Japanese manufacturer showcased world's first 8K TV prototype, a technology it unveiled last year but has improved considerably now.
The device measures 85-inch diagonally and supports videos with resolution of 7680x4320p. However, there is a dearth of even 4K content at present and across the world, there are only a couple of cameras that can shoot 8K videos.
Samsung 110-inch ultra-HD TV
Despite a host of ultra-HD TVs on display at CES 2013, Samsung made waves at the event with its 110-inch product. Though just a concept at present, this television has a LED panel and boasts of screen resolution of 3840x2160p. It has a frame that comes with two woofers, two tweeters and two mid-range speakers, running on a 120W amplifier.
The manufacturer has done away with the barrage of cables needed to connect this ultra-HD TV to A/V accessories via the One Connect System, a cable that is linked to the back of the television set. Along with this, Samsung showcased other features of this ultra-HD TV, such as gesture- and voice-control as well as Smart Hub.
Vizio 3D TV without glasses
TVs that offer 3D videos without glasses have been under development for some time, but Vizio brought that to life at CES 2013. With the new television by Vizio, people can watch 3D videos without glasses from nine spots.
And even if they are not in the right position, the image does not get distorted, it simply recedes into 2D mode. The technology is currently not perfected and is likely to come to market by 2014.
Curved OLED TVs by LG, Samsung
OLED TVs were the toast of CES 2013, but LG and Samsung one upped the competition by showcasing curved televisions. Measuring 55-inch diagonally, such TVs make sure that the distance between the viewers and screen remains constant from all angles.
LG Google TVs
LG launched a new range of Google TVs at CES 2013 this year, with one having a 55-inch screen. This television set comes with Magic Remote, a Bluetooth-enabled remote that has a keypad on the rear. This remote control operates like a wireless mouse and can be used to scroll around the on-screen contents.
Other features of LG's Google TVs include dual-core processor, LG's Cinema 3D functionality and voice control, along with some pre-installed apps by Google.
