Next Generation Optical Disk: 300GB Capacity

Sony Corporation and Panasonic Corporation had signed a basic agreement with objective of jointly developing a new generation optical disk of atleast 300GB capacity by 2015. Sony previously commercialized a file-based optical disc archive system in September, 2012. Based on optical disc technology that Sony cultivated for its XDCAM series of professional broadcasting products, this system houses twelve optical discs within a compact cartridge as a single, high-capacity storage solution. Each disc within the cartridge holds 25GB capacity, offering a total range of storage capacities from 300GB to 1.5TB. Panasonic launched its ‘LB-DM9 series’ of optical disc storage devices. This series uses a dedicated magazine of just 20.8mm thickness to house twelve 100GB optical discs. A maximum of 90 magazines can be stored, providing a total storage capacity of 180TB.  The rankings by Akamai Technologies cover January through March and are based on average peak connection speeds. 1. Hong Kong Speed: 63.6Mbps ,  which was more than three times the global average of 18.4 Mbps. 2.Japan Speed:  50 Mbps , which was more than 170% faster than the global average 3.Romania Speed:  47.9 Mbps , which was 160% faster than the global average. 4. 5G: ROLL OUT COULD BE BY 2020

The words from  Wen Tong, head of the 5G mission at  Huawei Technologies , the Chinese telco declared that world would completely roll out with 5G by 2020.  The idea is to increase the thru-put by 1,000 times with 1,000 times more spectrum and 1,000 times reduced energy. A group of telecom firms such as Huawei ,  Ericsson  and  Samsung  have started groundwork on 5G. "This is one of the top priority areas for us. We started work on this in 2009. The standards for 5G will be out in 2015 and rollout could be 2020. We will lead the 5G revolution," he said. Huawei started work on 5G in 2009 and has already deployed 200 engineers on the R&D work. Few major telecom firms Huawei, Ericsson and Samsung have started foundation work on 5G. iOS7 :AirPlay

Apple's upcoming iOS, iOS7 has apparently a new feature Air Play. This feature lets the user to control an Apple gadget through car dashboard. This makes a sense that there is no need to hook up with a apple gadget all the time to play music, to display maps and more interestingly to talk to Siri. OK fine listening to this feature sounds cool but users can have a pull up, how to access this feature???????? For iOS7 beta version- Scour to "Accessory Developer" settings menu. There u will find two options  ------  >>  one called "iOS in the  Car  over USB" and, --------  >> "iOS in the Car over WiFi." Select an option and hav great time with this cool feature.  So far, Apple has signed up such automakers as Honda, Mercedes, Nissan, Ferrari, Hyundai, Kia, and Infiniti to integrate more iOS features into their cars. Microsoft: MSN TV (formerly Web TV) closing on 30Sept,2013

The first Web TV which was founded by Steve Perelman in 1995 which later on provided on-live game streaming service. Sony and Phillips started setup boxes with web TV in 1996, which in turn gave simple access to email and internet via dial up modem. Later in 1997, the IT giant  Microsoft acquired Web TV for $425 and tried to expand its service. But unfortunately,    Microsoft could not keep up with the rapidly changing pace of how people were accessing the Internet via broadband connections combined with cheaper laptops and desktops. In 2001 Microsoft named Web TV as MSN TV and as a upgrade in 2004 Microsoft launched MSN TV2 hardware and software service. Now the company has turned its set up box focus to Xbox, the launch of Xbox one console represents the company's latest attempt to merge internet with living room experience.

Apple new rival for Samsung in China

Astonishingly last year china passed the US smart phone market. The global market rivalry is mainly between Apple and Samsung. They built expensive phones in affluent countries because of the demand from customers. Now more phones are being designed for consumers in emerging markets, who are expected to account for most of the growth in smartphone sales in the future. That presents an opportunity for the major  Chinese phone makers , like Huawei,  Lenovo ,  ZTE , Coolpad,  Xiaomi  and  Oppo .   While Samsung is the biggest smartphone vendor in China, with a market share of 20 per cent in the first quarter of 2013, according to the research firm Canalys, several Chinese companies have surged past Apple, which holds 8 per cent.   These include internationally recognized names like Huawei, known for network switching gear, and Lenovo, known for ThinkPad laptops, which moved into the No. 3 and No. 4 positions in the first quarter.
